For 8 years Small Steps Project has been delivering shoes and emergency aid to children and families living in inhumane conditions on landfill sites all over the world. Today we have three sustainable projects in Cambodia, Laos and Romania.
However never did we anticipate that thousands of children and their families, fleeing from war would escape, only to find themselves living in the same unacceptable conditions right in our doorstep.
It is with great empathy for the people in this this current crisis that we have decided to partner with Care4Calais and will be diverting all donations of aid in the form of goods: boots, shoes, clothes and tents to our new partners, who are working so hard to provide desperately needed aid to their beneficiaries.
The Calais Jungle was built in a former landfill site and the aim is to provide 4000 pairs of boots and socks before winter sets in.
We hope that will join us (Small Steps and our partners Festival Reboot) in taking a step and responsibility for the many families who have been through so much already only to end up in such a terrible place.
Let’s make sure they all have warm feet to take their next steps into a better future. We look forward to our leaders taking the steps to provide sustainable solutions for these people too.
Please send all donations of boots and clothes to:
