Trekfest July 2013

Katie Watts and Richard Bell this year will be embarking on a 27 mile trek through the Peak District in just 12 hours.  Help them reach their goal and donate to them here and send them some encouragement while they are no doubt training through the cold months.

Recycling AND raising money

Mother and daughter team, Jools and Elie, aged 8, have set up a website where Elie will recycle old and unused toys and clothes.  The website is linked to EBay and Amazon across the world.  We think it's a great idea!  Check it out Elie's Shop here and Jool's E-shops 4 Kids here.
Elie's shop has been designed to sell unwanted toys and clothes, some will be used and some will be new, all used toys are in excellent condition.  Elie's shop is an excellent way to recycle unwanted items and at the same time promote the charity and raise money.  It is also making children aware of recycling, business and saving money as well as doing something great for charity, so Elie's shop is a form of education!
Elie has also been keeping busy fundraising with a cake sale and raising £120!  Here she is with the Mayor who was very impressed with all the work she has been doing.

Help Paula reach her target!

Check out Paula's blog here.  Paula has done a huge amount of work for Small Steps, starting out as a volunteer in London and being a core member of the Celebrity Shoe team and even buying a pair of shoes belonging to one of her favourite celebs - Simon Pegg!  Paula has been in Cambodia helping set up nurseries for the children and distributing shoes in Siem Reap and Sihanoukville and she has done an incredible job.  Help her reach her target, dig deep and donate here.

Global Art Club Primary School

The children at the Global Art Club Primary School braved the rain and did a great job selling home made lemonade, cakes and cookies and ice creams. They also sold items they had made out of recycled goods such as newspaper bags, coasters made from old magazines and decorated candle holders from recycled glass, they held a clothes swap and raised money through penalty shoot outs and archery.  A very impressive fundraiser raising a total of £123.00!

Huge thanks to the all the teachers and children who were involved.  Here are a few photos from the day.

Solicitors Do A Sponsored Walk Across The Beaches of Normandy

In May 2011 solicitors from across the UK left England to walk barefoot across the beaches of Normandy. The idea? To raise awareness and funds for the Small Steps Project.

The project is a charity that provides much needed support for children living on dumping sites across the world. Their aim is to both raise awareness and provide much needed footwear to protect from harm and disease.
Along with Shift Studios, three legal staff from Wosskow Brown Solicitors in Sheffield, trudged the 23 miles from Ouistreham to the village of Paisty-Vert across two days."  They raised an enormous £5,000 for Small Steps.

Watch their video here.

Should you wish, there's still time to donate through Just Giving.
