Small Steps Project Celebrity Ambassadors
Small Steps Project are delighted to have the incredible support from our Celebrity Ambassadors. Our ambassadors are not only donating their shoes to raise funds for the work we do, but also their time to raise the profile of the charity, and raise awareness to the plight of children living on rubbish dumps all around the world.
We would not be where we are today, and helping the number of families we do on a daily basis, without the support of our celebrity supporters, and would like to take this opportunity to thank every single on of them wholeheartedly.
We are delighted to announce that Supermodel Helena Christensen has become a Small Steps Project Ambassador. Not only has Helena supported the charity by donating her shoes every year, over the last three years, but she is taking is a step further by using both her celebrity status and skills as a photographer to raise awareness on behalf of the charity.
Helena told us “I am very honoured to be joining the organisation Small Steps Project in their tireless efforts of supporting children and their families living on rubbish dumps around the world. I am in awe of these hard-working women, who so selflessly out in so much work and time to make the living conditions acceptable for thousands of kids growing up in filth. When I first heard of Small Steps I knew I wanted to support the organisation, in more ways than ‘just’ donating shoes. I’m excited to start this venture with the organisation and the kids”. 2014
We are so honoured to have the very handsome British actor James Purefoy as our celebrity ambassador. Over the years James has been a massive support to our charity; he has come to our events, featured in our documentary and inspired many of his celebrity friends to take a small steps too by donating their shoes. Thanks to James, famed for his role as Mark Anthony in Rome, we have has shoe donations from Sienna Miller, Rachel Weisz, Eva Green, Sharleen Spiteri, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, to name a few.
James explains what made him become a celebrity ambassador, “What Small Steps have achieved in their relatively brief existence is akin to a minor, but very beautiful, miracle. They have turned lives around. They are the embodiment of that lovely phrase ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’. I am proud and humbled to be associated with them”. 2011
