Clifton pupils choose Small Steps as this year’s charity

We’re delighted that the amazing pupils at Clifton School and Nursery have chosen Small Steps Project as their charity for the current academic year. Last year’s brilliant Year 2 pupils raised a fantastic £1,300 for the project. Taking inspiration from their work on Stig of the Dump, the pupils held a huge fundraising event in June, where they raised money by selling a myriad of their own creations, including delicious cakes, handmade cards and cushions featuring wellies. Reducing, Reusing and Recycling at Niddrie Mill Primary School

Holywell Primary School | Recycled Fashion Show!

Located just outside St. Ives, Cambridgeshire is a small school named Holywell Primary School. Children from the school organised a fashion show to raise money for Small Steps Project! The initial inspiration for the fundraising came from a book by Andy Mulligan called ‘Trash’. A huge thank you to the year six children at the CIPEC Bilingual school who, alongside their teacher Mrs Le Coz, organised an incredibly successful bakesale in aid of Small Steps Project. During this week, the children learnt about the work of SSP, and upcycled everyday items that would usually end up on rubbish dumps and turing them into useful items such as birdfeeders, money boxes, nightlights and soft toys. Global Art Club Primary School

The children at the Global Art Club Primary School braved the rain and did a great job selling home made lemonade, cakes and cookies and ice creams. Angkor Bike Challenge

In December, Jake Corke completed the Angkor Bike Challenge; a 100km cycle around the Angkor Wat temples.  He completed it in 4 hours and 15 mins and raised £798!  I think you’ll agree this is an amazing feat so well done Jake and thanks for all your hard work and training!

Sponsored climb of Ben Nevis

Meera, Kay and Sascha successfully climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland in 4 and a half hours! Solicitors Do A Sponsored Walk Across The Beaches of Normandy

St Olaves Primary school have an Entrepeneurs challenge and raised money for Small Steps Project

St Olaves primary school in New Eltham, Kent set a challenge to each of the classes to set up a mini business. The class that made the most profit was crowned the ‘Entrepreneurs 2011′.  All profits then went to the charity chosen by the winning class and the winning class raised £165.44 by selling badges to children, teachers and parents.  This means a total of £600 will be donated to Small Steps!  Here’s a photo of some of the winning…
