Coldplay formed in 1996 and are vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion. Their debut album Parachutes was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band’s second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head won multiple awards, including NME’s Album of the Year. On 4 December 2015, the band released their seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams. Coldplay have won 62 awards from 209 nominations throughout their career and have sold more than 80 million records.
Chris Martin has supported Small Steps Project several times in the past and this year the whole band have generously donated.
Coldplay headlined this year’s Glastonbury Festival, putting on a spectacular show on the Sunday night.
