Rachel McAdams catapulted to Hollywood fame with her breakout performance in teen movie, Mean Girls, in which she played the ruthless school queen bee, Regina George. This was followed by the deeply romantic weepie, The Notebook co-starring Ryan Gosling; Rachel McAdams’ critically acclaimed performance as the young love struck Allie, cemented her reputation is one of the most acccomplished and versatile actors of her generation.
Rachel’s credits also include the Time Traveller’s Wife, Wedding Crashers, Red Eye, The Lucky Ones, State of Play, Sherlock Holmes and more recently, Disobedience, opposite fellow Small Steps Projects supporter, Rachel Weisz. In 2016 she was Oscar nominated for Best Actress for her role as an investigative journalist in Spotlight, the film also won an Oscar for Best Acting Ensemble.
A committed environmentalist, Rachel co-founded the eco-friendly lifestyle blog GreenIsSexy.org and assisted the clean-up effort in Biloxi, Mississippi, following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. In 2013, she served as a spokesperson for the Food and Water First Movement, which aims to preserve Ontario’s farmland and fresh water supply. She has also been involved with charities Habitat for Humanity and United Way.
