Small Steps Project is thrilled to announce our collaboration with the incredible shoe designer Georgina Goodman for the London Design Festival.
Twice named ‘Accessory Designer of the Year’ by the British Fashion Council, Georgina opened her first ‘Georgina Goodman’ boutique in Mayfair in 2002 attracting clients such as style icons Kate Moss and Thandie Newton.
In 2011 she embarked on a new chapter, setting up her beautiful new design studio. As well as collaborating on projects with artists and filmmakers, Georgina mentors young footwear designers at the studio and has now joined together with Small Steps to channel her passion for shoes into helping us provide children on dumps with vital pairs of their own.
Georgina says, “I’ve always believed that the right pair of shoes changes everything. I am also aware that my perspective comes from a place of privilege. This beautiful charity brings this idea elegantly into being from a profoundly different yet simple angle; whereby ‘a pair of shoes’ radically transforms the life of a child. I love it and I am proud and humbled to support it.”
We are absolutely delighted to be working with Georgina and are incredibly grateful for her kindness and support.
This weekend we will be joining Georgina at her studio at her ‘Spontaneous Creativity’ event as part of the London Design Festival. On Saturday 20th September everyone is invited to attend the open studio event for a day of exciting workshops and the chance to ‘Share your Shoe Love’ at the #ggloves installation. Don’t forget to wear your best shoes to have your photo taken and be part of the Small Steps #mybestshoes campaign!
The event runs from 11am – 6pm at Georgina Goodman’s studio at 55 Lonsdale Road, Queens Park, NW6 6RA
