We would like to thanks Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) UK & Ireland Chapter for selecting us as their annual charity. We are pleased to be supported by an organisation that shares interests and awareness with us, and aims to provide a responsible and fair tourism for Asia.
On 14th December, trustee Johnathan Garelick was invited to PATA’s Christmas Lunch, where he could explain Small Step’s objectives and his own experience visiting the Takmao dump in Phonom Phen, Cambodia. In that lunch, PATA raised the wonderful amount of £2,800 and we can just say THANK YOU!
The Pacific Asia Travel Association works to promote the Asia Pacific region within the travel trade in the UK and Ireland. With a community of over 5000, we aim to educate the UK travel industry on tourism destinations, products and news, primarily through a series of annual events across the country. PATA is a not-for-profit organisation with a head office in Bangkok, and offices worldwide.
PATA approached Small Steps to offer fundraising support through a charity auction at its annual Christmas lunch. Chairman Chris Crampton commented, “as an association working to promote tourism within the Asia Pacific region, we are also eager to ensure we are also supporting local communities, and were compelled to support the fantastic work that Small Steps does to improve living conditions in some of our regions.
